Grecia Fireplace "The Grecia Fireplace is the perfect mix of a classic look and that of a coral stone look. This fireplace features a dominating Cherry Mantle with the addition of coral stone tiles around the edge of the fireplace insert space. This design tends to be a bit more simple and elegant. It features a handcarved "Clam" style accent right in the middle of the fireplace and on the sides it has Carved columns. Coral Stone is a form of limestone. Many marine animals, such as corals and shellfish, have skeletons or shells made of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). When these animals die, their skeletons sink to the seafloor and accumulate to form large beds of calcium carbonate. As more and more layers form, their weight compresses and cements the layers at the bottom, forming limestone. Details of the skeletons and shells are often preserved in the limestone as fossils. The result after millions of years is coral stone. Note: We use real stone to make this fireplace. We do not use cast stone or materials. The fireplace is solidly built using imported plywood, coral stone tiles, as well as solid oak trunks. To ensure no cracks appear later in the fireplace's life, we make sure the wood used to construct the fireplace is thoroughly dried. The back panel of the fireplace is built out of stainless steel to ensure a rust free appearance. The painting process is a tedious and laborious one, which requires several coats of finish to be applied.
